The Great Accountant does accounting for the following reasons: Love of Numbers - balancing debits and credits is a thrill almost equal to climax. Love of Records - finding a document is like finding gold on a treasure hunt. Love of Business - the business is a part of you just as body organs and limbs. Love of Associates - being a part of the family away from home. Love of Vendors - a person other people can depend on makes you important. Love of Profession - pride in being a member in one of the oldest careers. All of the qualities above make a Great Accountant .

People are not born with the natural skills to be an Accountant or want to take the time to develop the skills that is absolutely essential for a Good Accountant which are: (1) PATIENCE (2) PERSISTENCE (3) PERSERVERANCE While the educational foundations of Accounting can be taught in schools, to achieve success in this profession the student of Accounting have to master the Three "Ps" above, three of greatest challenges on this earth and in life. Text Box: Accounting has changed in my life time from mastering adding machines and files cabinets to mastering computer software programs and having a better understanding of database systems. While the use of computers on the surface has made life easier for the accounting profession, the three "Ps of Accounting and life are still essential for the accountant success. Every transactions must be individually recorded , checked, stored and verified so that it can be located when needed. The new accountant may have to deal with less paperwork, but now they have to deal with paperless files that can be misplaced and impossible to find. The method of accounting may have change, but Patience and Persistence are still the keys to Success in the Career of Accounting .
