Introduction


     while Highway "1" in
     the state of California
     is a road that travels
     through most of the
     state 840 mile coast,
     our review is about
     the roads to the
     north and south of
     the golden gate bridge
     from santa cruz in the
     south to stenson beach
     in the north.

     beside being in our own
     backyard, as a resident
     of san francisco,
     we find this part of the
     highway particularly
     exciting because of
     (a1) the rollercoaster
         nature of the roads
     (a2) the breathtaking
         views of the sea
     (a3) the beaches
         on the road
     (a4) the natural land-
         marks on the road.

     visitor and residence
     who miss this journey
     is missing a fantastic
     experience !
