Natural
Landmarks !

     being obvious to expect
     to see a lot of beaches
     on a coastal road,
     highway "1" between
     stenson beach in the
     north and santa cruz
     in the south

     have many
     interesting things to see
     like
     (a1)
     john muir woods
     home of some of the
     biggest and oldest
     trees on earth.

     john muir
         overlook
     a mountain view of the
     ocean and mountain
     from a different
     perspective
     (a3)
     pigeon point
         lighthouse
     an old fashion bldg
     on the road overlooking
     the beach and highway.

     pacifica beach pier,
     a walking trail over the
     ocean that is perfect for
     viewing the ocean and
     surrounding hills

     the golden gate bridge
     an object that does not
     need any describing and
     (a6)
     the san francisco zoo

     santa cruz beach
     boadwalk
     an area with many
     unique building and.
     landscape settings.

     while all of the area
     listed above are very
     special to us,
     the rest of this
     section will focus on

     what makes
     john muir woods
     so special is height,
     and age of many
     of the trees in the
     forest.
    
     according to a web
     page from a national
     park listing
     (c1)
     the trees grow up to
     258 feet,
     the size of 45 six foot
     men standing on
     top of each other.
     (c2)
     the trees on average
     live 500 to 800 years,
     some recorded to have
     lived over 2,200 years,
     the oldest and biggest
     living things on earth,
     dating back to the days
     before Jesus Christ.
    
     while almost everything
     we seen on
     highway "1"
     was a things of beauty,
     seeing pigeon point
     lighthouse from the
     road created thoughts
     of living in the past
     and a desire to explore
     a bldg that usefulness
     has changed from a
     helper to sailors into a
     place of historical
     entertainment to the
     privileged travelers
     on these roads.

     with the cost of
     spending the night at
     pigeon point
         lighthouse
     around $30, I hope to
     spend a night there
     in the near future.

     thou a few miles off
     the highway "1"
     coastal road,
     Santa Cruz Beach
     Boardwalk is an
     interesting place with
     other things to do
     other than it board-
     walk and amusement
     park rides.
    
     thou the AMBS team
     did spend a lot of
     time observing rides
     on the beach like the
     waterlog rollercoaster
     and skyview ride,
     our most enjoyable
     experience was the
     time we spent at a
     beach park near
     the ocean south of
     the amusement park.
    
     the park, a mini
     penisula within itself,
     had pretty views of
     (d1) the ocean,
     (d2) more beaches,
     (d3) another lighthouse
     and
     (d4) the amusement
     park.

     another thing I enjoyed
     about being in the park
     was the AMBS team long
     conversations about
     living and the
     blessing of being able
     to travel like we have.

     the Santa Cruz area
     are some of the
